Estee Lauder Wild Sunset Pure Color Envy Sculpting Blush

Estee Lauder Wild Sunset Pure Color Envy Sculpting Blush ($34.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a vibrant, medium-dark pink-coral with warm undertones and a gold, frosted shimmer-sheen finish. Becca Snapdragon (P, $34.00) is darker, less shimmery (95% similar). Zoeva CR030 (P) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Sweet Vision (LE, $28.00) is cooler, more shimmery (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Love Lust (Discontinued) (DC, $60.00) is warmer, more muted, more shimmery (90% similar). By Terry Light & Tan Vibes #2 (LE) is cooler, lighter (90% similar). By Terry Tan & Flash Cruise #2 (LE) is brighter, lighter (90% similar). Clinique Peach Pop (02) (P, $21.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Fleeting Romance (P, $23.50) is darker, less shimmery (85% similar). NARS Panic (Right) (P) is darker, less shimmery (85% similar). Laura Geller Tropic Hues (P, $28.00) is cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The formula is supposed to have an “ultra-silky” texture that gives a “healthy-looking glow” and a “rush of fresh, radiant color.” The press release is more specific and says it’s supposed to have “buildable dewy color that lasts all day.” According to the brand, the blush formula is a reformulation, but I don’t have any shades in the previous formula to compare to (and it’s been awhile since I last tried one, so all I can say is that they feel, in general, a little smoother). It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a lightly dusty texture that ended up being surprisingly blendable in practice. The blush looked glowy on the skin rather than dry or powdery, which was also a pleasant surprise. The color started to fade after eight hours of wear on me.

The texture was smooth but thin, and it was harder to build-up coverage to more than medium, even after a few layers. I didn’t have any trouble blending out the edges or evening out the color, but this is a shade that is best suited for someone who prefers sheer coverage out of their blushes. The color lasted for seven hours on me.

The texture was smooth, neither too firm nor too soft, and it sat well on the skin as it became slightly dewy as it buffed and worked into the skin. The color started to fade after eight hours of wear.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi-Palette

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi-Palette
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi-Palette

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Multi-Cheek Palette (2016) ($50.00 for 0.40 oz.) includes a highlighter, blush, and contour powder. There is little said about the formula or actual products at all, so I’m rating these as an average product of the type. The highlighter seems to be in the spirit of the brand’s Gelee formula, but the others, while similarly patterned, feel more like traditional powder products. The palette, on the whole, was disappointing and pretty dupable at that.

Bronze Goddess Highlighter is a soft beige with warm, golden undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque coverage with a soft, blendable texture that wasn’t too firm or too powdery in the pan. The powder highlighted the skin without emphasizing pores. On me, it wore for seven and a half hours before fading. Hourglass Iridescent Strobe Light (P, $38.00) is cooler, less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Sparkling Rose (LE, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Highlighter (Softcore) (LE, $60.00) is warmer, brighter (90% similar). Chanel Coups de Minuit (12) (LE, $45.00) is cooler, darker (90% similar). MAC Soft & Gentle (P, $32.00) is brighter, darker (90% similar). bareMinerals The Brilliant Sunset (LE, $26.00) is darker, more shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Luminous (P, $30.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Bronze Goddess Blush is a medium, rosy pink with warm undertones and a fine, golden shimmer-sheen finish. It had semi-opaque coverage with a slightly drier texture that was somewhat stiff in the pan. I couldn’t really build-up the color much beyond what you see in the swatch, no matter how many layers. It was fairly blendable but could have been easier to work with. It lasted for seven hours on me. Laura Geller Rosewater (P, $26.00) is more pigmented, darker (95% similar). Benefit Bella Bamba (DC, $28.00) is darker (90% similar). NARS Give In Take Blush III (LE) is lighter (90% similar). MAC At Dusk (LE, $25.00) is more muted (90% similar). Becca Camellia (P, $34.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). NARS 413 BLKR (Blush) (P, $30.00) is brighter, darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Bicoastal (Bottom) (LE) is darker (85% similar). Guerlain Smile (Right) (LE, $52.00) is lighter, less shimmery (85% similar). Tarina Tarantino Parasol (P, $25.00) is warmer, darker, more shimmery (85% similar). Colour Pop Boba (DC, $8.00) is brighter, lighter, more shimmery (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Bronze Goddess Contour is a medium orange with hints of brown and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque coverage and also had a firmer press to the pan like the blush (the highlighter is the easiest and most finely-milled powder of the three). It’s apparent that Estee Lauder has joined the bronzer = contour train, because this is an unlikely contour for many skin tones and looks more like a lighter version of most bronzers. It blends out decently and the finish is nice–a natural sheen that doesn’t emphasize pores or look overtly shimmery. It wore for seven and a half hours. Guerlain Terre d'Ete (LE, $78.00) is brighter, darker (95% similar). Zoeva ND020 (P) is darker, less shimmery (95% similar). Dolce and Gabbana Desert (P, $51.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Lo-Fi (LE, $26.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Colour Pop Carry-On (P, $8.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Aphrodite's Shell (LE, $33.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Make Up For Ever #25I (P, $36.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Suqqu Hanachaori (02) (P, $34.00) is lighter, more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Delphic (LE, $33.00) is warmer, darker (90% similar). MAC Sunny Side (LE, $32.00) is lighter (85% similar). Colour Pop Paradise Cove (P, $8.00) is cooler, darker (85% similar). Sephora Fiji (25) (P, $14.00) is cooler, darker (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
