The Summer Season: Elizabeth Arden Perfect Tulip Lipstick

Elizabeth Arden Perfect Tulip Lipstick ($21.50 for 0.12 oz.) is a softened raspberry pink with soft shimmer and sheen.  It applies smoothly, evenly, and delivers full-color coverage without having to layer a ton on.  This is a great shade of pink, because it’s not super bright nor too cool, so it will work on a variety of skin tones.

Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Plump Perfect lipsticks are very moisturizing–these lipsticks actually seem to impart moisture rather than simply lock it in. I’ve also found that they wear pretty well, giving me about four hours of wear, and the majority will get through a cup of coffee.

The Summer Season: Elizabeth Arden Perfect Flamingo Lipstick

Elizabeth Arden Perfect Flamingo Lipstick ($21.50 for 0.12 oz.) is a brightened shade of blue-based pink. It’s a creamy, smooth shade with an almost semi-matte finish — it has just a bit of sheen but it’s very played down. It provides semi-opaque color coverage while de-emphasizing lip lines. One of my favorite things about this lipstick is how moisturizing it is — it really keeps lips feeling their poutiest throughout the day. The wear is fantastic as well, as I can get through a cup of coffee without leaving all my lipstick behind! It doesn’t make through the whole day, but it stays on well enough not to need a reapplication after drinking, otherwise it lasts a solid four hours on me.

Elizabeth Arden offers two delectable shades for fall in Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick Cayenne Pearl and Cranberry Cream ($19.50). I like Cayenne Pearl for a great reddish coral color — almost a brick-brown red, but not at all in-your-face. Cranberry Cream is a raspberryish hue, not too intense, which makes it a nice every day shade for those looking for something less natural, more pigmented–but not over the top.

The Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick line has very subtle sheen and shimmer. Both shades I tried were well pigmented and creamy, both characteristics I look for in a good lipstick! It wore well throughout the day, and it faded after a few hours (as to be expected when worn alone and eating!), but I didn’t get left with a ring around my lips, thankfully!

ELIZABETH ARDEN FOR FALL 2008 | Double Intrigue Eyes

This season Elizabeth Arden launches Color Intrigue Eyeshadow Duos ($24.50) in seven different color combinations. Each compact is imprinted with one of Miss Arden’s most famous beauty maxims, “To be beautiful and natural is the birthright of every woman.” Alongside the eyeshadow duos is Advanced Eye-Fix Primer ($21.50) that soothes eyelids while giving you a great base to apply these shadows over. Pair the new duos with Color Intrigue Gel Eyeliners in or Ceramide Lash Extending Treatment Mascara ($20.00) in Midnight. For the face, Elizabeth Arden Shimmer Powder ($29.50) comes in handy.

Let me share some of my thoughts on this latest launch from Elizabeth Arden! Plus, more product photos and swatches.

The duos I tested out were Peacock (left) and Blue Smoke (right). What’s interesting about the duos is one shade is shimmery, while the other is more of a matte texture. The five other shades include Autumn Leaves, Illusion, Golden Moss, Pink Clover, and Black Currant. I’ve never been a huge fan of matte shadows, just because I do find they are more difficult to work with and blend into a look than shimmery textures. I tried to use the colors, but they just weren’t working (but it was a very off day for me, so nothing was working either), but I’m going to give it another shot using their Advanced Eye-Fix Primer.

Available in Black or Brown to coordinate with the new eyeshadow duos–not exactly new, but gel liners are always a great option for those looking for long-wearing liners. I think the black is a nice way to do black without it being over the top or too intense (of course, I love intense black… but there are days when something tamer is better).
