Color Club Show Time Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “dark gray metallic.” It’s a rich, dark charcoal gray-black with silver-gray and icy teal shimmer. It’s close to being black, but there’s enough lightness in it that when paired with the gray shimmer, makes it look not-quite-black. Chanel Storm is a bit lighter and the shimmer is much more subdued. Nubar Midnight is matte in finish, and it has a lighter gray base color. Neither is all that similar to Show Time, though.
It’s opaque in two coats, and the formula wasn’t too thick or too thin, so I didn’t have any trouble applying it. The polish flowed evenly across the nail without streaking or bubbling. It dried down in about the average time, but it’s forgiving if you start applying the second coat while the first is still drying down. I typically get a week of wear out of Color Club’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.
Almost black but not quite, Show Time is still dramatic and interesting. Even though it's metallic, you really don't see any brush strokes, which is quite the feat.

Color Club First Looks Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “blue green metallic.” This is an incredibly rich, inky blackened navy blue with bluish-teal micro-shimmer. The way the shimmer is catches the light makes the polish look like it’s glowing on the nails. NARS Night Flight has larger blue shimmer. MAC Biker Blue is bluer with larger shimmer. Rescue Beauty Lounge Under the Stars has much larger shimmer (more like particle glitter) that is sparse.
It’s completely opaque after two coats. The formula was not too thick or too thin, so it leveled and applied evenly and easily without pooling along the edges. The drying time was about average, but it did have a natural shine to the dried result. As you can see from this week, I’ve been doing some wear-testing of Color Club polishes, and First Looks was another one I specifically tested for wear. It wore for a full seven days without chipping and only had minor tip wear at the end of the week.
I love the richness of this shade--it's blackened blue without being all black in lower lighting. I love a dark color that is noticeably not-black even if the sun isn't shining directly on it!

Color Club Port-folio Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “purple duochrome.” It flashes from violet purple to aqua-green. The duochrome is incredibly present and noticeable. I don’t have it, but Zoya Adina seems like it would be similar, perhaps a bit lighter. Initially, my mind went to Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie, but it’s definitely a pinker purple with more of a blue shimmer.
It’s fully opaque after two coats, and the formula was a breeze to work with; not too thick or too thin, so it applied evenly and fluidly without overflowing along the edges. I tested this shade specifically for wear, and it wore for a fully seven days with minor tip wear but no chips. There are some visible brush strokes in the finish, which is as anticipated, but may be a deal-breaker for you. I think the strength of the duochrome might sway you, though
This is a duochrome combination that I haven't seen half a dozen times or more, and the duochrome itself is particularly strong and noticeable with this shade. It's also opaque in two coats, and it had a great consistency.

Color Club Editorial Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “peridot duochrome.” It’s a yellowy, dirty gold with brown and green in it that flashes from gold to grass green. It is, not surprisingly, a dupe for Chanel Peridot. The also recently-released China Glaze Rare & Radiant is rather similar as well (to be reviewed). Ozotic #507 is a bit darker, more green to blue than gold to green.
The formula on this was just right–not too thick or too thin–and it waso paque after two coats. It has a frosted, metallic finish, so there are some minor brush strokes visible under brighter light. They are the type that tends to add to the finish, rather than take away. They apply straight and don’t go all wonky. This was actually one of the shades from the fall launch that I test-drove for wear, and it lasted a full seven days without chipping and only had minor tip wear. This was true whether I used a base/top coat or just applied to bare nails. I will warn you that next to nothing chips on me, though.
