Video Review: Chanel Knightsbridge Collection – First Impressions & Swatches

This video takes a look at Chanel’s Knightsbridge Collection, which is a chanel.com exclusive launch that includes three new and limited shades of Rouge Allure Lipsticks, one new and limited edition Glossimer, and one new and limited edition Highlighting Powder & Blush. My favorite product was definitely Kensington, and my least favorite was Chelsea. The powder is pretty but wasn’t impressive enough to merit the heartbreaking price tag for me.

Chanel Rebelle Rouge Coco Shine

Chanel Rebelle Rouge Coco Shine ($32.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a semi-opaque red-coral with a healthy shine. It has warm undertones, but they’re subtle and come from the pink-red hue, rather than orange, so it should work on both cooler and warmer complexions. Guerlain Bal de Mai is similar but more opaque, less red. MAC Hibiscus is more orange. Bobbi Brown Guava and Chanel Flamboyante are brighter.

Chanel Hyde Park Rouge Allure Lipstick

Chanel Belgravia Rouge Allure Lipstick

Chanel Belgravia Rouge Allure Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “lustrous and vibrant rose.” It’s a limited edition shade from the Knightsbridge collection, which is an exclusive to chanel.com. Chanel says the color “pays tribute to a region of London, rich with history and classic architecture.” It’s a brightened strawberry pink with lighter pink shimmer. The color coverage is mostly opaque, though my lip freckle is still visible.  Chanel’s Rouge Allure formula is one of my favorites, and it’s my favorite lipstick formula by Chanel.  The formula is long-wearing (this shade wore for five hours), comfortable to wear, and moisturizing.  It’s a little less color coverage than I would expect from a Rouge Allure, but it’s not sheer.

Chanel Kensington Rouge Allure Lipstick

Chanel Kensington Rouge Allure Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “bold and brilliant fuchsia.” The color is inspired by “one of London’s most posh shopping districts.” It is a vibrant pink with blue undertones. The coverage is mostly opaque, and the finish has a lovely natural shine but still looks creamy and lush on the lips. This is a lipstick that really looks beautiful when worn; it just has that really cushiony look, where lips look like pouty pillows.
