By Terry Light & Tan Vibes Sun Designer Palette

By Terry Light & Tan Vibes Sun Designer Palette ($82.00 for 0.53 oz.) includes six shades that can be used as highlighters, blushes, and/or bronzers. As I mentioned in my review of Tan & Flash Cruise, there was a lighter/mote muted option, and this is it. I had the same experience with this palette as I did with the other: I was impressed by the softness, blendability, and finish of these on the skin–they’re very easy to use and diffuse, and the finish is glowing without emphasizing pores. Despite being very soft and finely-milled, they’re not really powdery or dusty; they seem to have a decent amount of binder so they adhere well and don’t get messy in the pan. The wear varied from eight to eight and a half hours across the six shades.

Light & Tan Vibes #1 is a medium, golden bronze with warm undertones and a fine, frosted shimmer. It had good color payoff paired with an incredibly smooth, silky texture that blended out effortlessly. The shimmer was just fine enough that it didn’t emphasize pores to my eye, but it gave a noticeable sheen. This shade wore well for eight hours on me. Charlotte Tilbury Medium/Dark Bronze (P) is cooler (95% similar). Too Faced Jolie (LE) is warmer (95% similar). Laura Mercier Seduction (P, $44.00) is darker (90% similar). theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer (P, $24.00) is warmer, lighter, more shimmery (90% similar). Too Faced Sun Bunny #1 (P) is warmer (90% similar). Colour Pop Glo Up (LE, $8.00) is darker, more shimmery (90% similar). NARS Casino (P, $36.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Colour Pop Poolside (P, $8.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Bikini Bronze (LE, $45.00) is cooler, darker (85% similar). Becca Topaz (P, $38.00) is warmer, brighter, lighter (85% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Tropical Days (P, $48.00) is lighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Light & Tan Vibes #2 is a softer, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and fine, gold frost that gives it a luminous finish. I think this is a shade that will look pinker and brighter on fairer and cooler skin tones, and then a bit warmer and more coral-like on warmer skin tones (like it does on me). The texture was soft, silky, and very lightly dusty, but it blended out beautifully on the skin and sat well without emphasizing pores or the skin’s natural texture. It lasted for just over eight hours on me before fading around the edges. This color is extremely dupable, though. Guerlain Blush G (LE, $65.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Becca Flowerchild (P, $32.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). bareMinerals The Natural High (P, $22.00) is warmer, darker (95% similar). Too Faced Peachy Keen (LE) is darker, more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Sweet Vision (LE, $28.00) is darker (95% similar). Stila Peach Shimmer (LE) is warmer (95% similar). Chanel Rose Glacier (170) (LE, $45.00) is cooler (90% similar). Estee Lauder Wild Sunset (P, $34.00) is warmer, darker (90% similar). MAC Springsheen (P, $22.00) is warmer (90% similar). Tarte Laugh (LE, $28.00) is cooler, darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Tarte Glisten (P, $28.00) is darker, more shimmery (90% similar). Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon (LE, $70.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Milani Dolce Pink (P, $8.49) is warmer, darker (90% similar). Sleek MakeUP Rose Gold (P, $6.99) is brighter, lighter, more shimmery (90% similar). Laura Geller Tropic Hues (P, $28.00) is cooler, darker (90% similar). KIKO 103 Golden Peach (P, $12.00) is lighter, less shimmery (90% similar). Laura Geller Fruit Punch (P, $28.00) is cooler, less shimmery (90% similar). Benefit Bella Bamba (Palette) (P, $28.00) is warmer, less shimmery (90% similar). Becca Rose Spritz (LE, $34.00) is cooler (90% similar). Laura Geller Peach Delight (P, $28.00) is cooler, lighter, less shimmery (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Light & Tan Vibes #3 is a light, golden peach with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had good color payoff, though this is a color that tends to get lost on my skin tone as once blended out, it just adds a sheen without pronounced color–on lighter skin tones, you might get more warmth and on darker skin tones, it might highlight more obviously. The texture had the same smooth, silky, and finely-milled as the other shades, and it was easy to blend out on the skin. From what I could tell, the sheen was visible for a good eight hours before it started to breakdown. Tom Ford Beauty Highlighter (Softcore) (LE, $60.00) is warmer (95% similar). Physicians Formula Natural Glow (P, $12.99) is less pigmented, darker, less shimmery (95% similar). Tarte Moonlight (P) is darker (95% similar). Laura Geller Peach Glow (P, $24.00) is cooler, lighter (90% similar). Surratt Beauty Coup de Genie (P, $32.00) is darker (90% similar). bareMinerals The Brilliant Sunset (LE, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). Hourglass Euphoric Strobe Light (P, $38.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). NARS Give In Take Blush II (LE) is darker, less shimmery (85% similar). Suqqu Yawakouki (05) (P, $34.00) is darker, less shimmery (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Light & Tan Vibes #4 is a light, golden beige with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. Again, it’s so close to my actual skin tone that it is hard to show it off in a full face photo–in the skin swatch, you can just barely see it. It doesn’t do much on my skin tone, but I could see it adding light warmth on very fair skin tones or helping to even out some complexions. The texture was finely-milled and soft, very blendable and sat well on the skin. It was hard to see the product on me, but based on what I could assess, it seemed to last eight hours. By Terry Tan & Flash Cruise #4 (LE) is darker (95% similar). NARS Nico (P, $30.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Light & Tan Vibes #5 is a muted, medium rosy brown with warm undertones and a satin sheen. I found it to have a more noticeable glow on the skin than the lighter tan (#4) shade. It ended up being a subdued, natural-looking bronzing element on my skin tone, and I can see why it would work a treat for fairer complexions (the palette is designed for lighter skin tones, while the other palette was designed for darker skin tones). The texture was a little dusty, but it didn’t look powdery on the skin and blended out without immediately sheering out. On me, the color wore well for eight hours. By Terry Tan & Flash Cruise #6 (LE) is warmer, darker (95% similar). MAC Optical (LE) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Surratt Beauty La Rosée du Soir (P, $32.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Colour Pop Aphrodisiac (P, $8.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Video (P, $26.00) is warmer, darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Tarte Sensual (P, $28.00) is warmer, less shimmery (90% similar). Zoeva ND010 (P) is cooler, darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Hourglass Brilliant Nude (LE) is darker, more shimmery (85% similar). NARS Talia (Highlight) (P) is lighter, less shimmery (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Light & Tan Vibes #6 is a medium-dark brown with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had good color payoff, though it was the least pigmented in the palette, paired with a fairly soft, smooth texture. Oddly, it was a little firm in the pan compared to the other shades. I wouldn’t describe it as hard to use or to blend out, just that it wasn’t as effortless as most shades in the palettes were, so the difference was more noticeable as a result. This shade wore for eight and a half hours on me before fading. By Terry Tan & Flash Cruise #5 (LE) is less shimmery (95% similar). Tarte Social Butterfly (LE, $28.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). bareMinerals Warmth (LE) is cooler, lighter (95% similar). Stila Sending My Love Bronzer (LE) is warmer, darker (90% similar). Colour Pop Paradise Cove (P, $8.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC I'll Hold My Breath #1 (LE) is warmer (90% similar). bareMinerals The Skinny Dip (P, $24.00) is warmer, lighter (85% similar). Burberry Summer Glow (P, $48.00) is warmer (85% similar). Becca Wild Honey (P, $32.00) is warmer, lighter (90% similar). bareMinerals The High Dive (P, $24.00) is warmer, lighter (80% similar). By Terry Tan & Flash Cruise Sun Designer Palette ($82.00 for 0.53 oz.) includes six shades that can be used as highlighters, blushes, and/or bronzers. There are two variations, this and a lighter version with more muted shades on the left side (which I expect to review as well). I was impressed by the softness, blendability, and finish of these on the skin–they’re very easy to use and diffuse, and the finish is glowing without emphasizing pores. Despite being very soft and finely-milled, they’re not really powdery or dusty; they seem to have a decent amount of binder so they adhere well and don’t get messy in the pan. The wear varied from eight to eight and a half hours across the six shades.

See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tan & Flash Cruise #2 is a bright, medium coral-orange with warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. The pigmentation was intense and true-to-pan–a little went a good way. The powder had a very soft, silky feel to it, but it wasn’t dusty or powdery. It was easy to diffuse and blend out on the skin, and the color wore well for eight and a half hours on me. Laura Geller Papaya (P, $26.00) is warmer, darker (90% similar). Edward Bess Secret Affair (P, $43.00) is lighter, less shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tan & Flash Cruise #3 is a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff paired with a soft, blendable texture that was silky and finely-milled and just a smidgen dusty. The color lasted for eight hours on me before fading noticeably. Urban Decay Quickie (P, $26.00) is darker, less shimmery (90% similar). Too Faced Better Together (LE, $26.00) is lighter, more shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tan & Flash Cruise #4 is a light beige with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color coverage, but it blends in with my skin tone, so it may be hard to tell. On my skin tone, it tends to subtly highlight without adding a lot of color. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading. By Terry Light & Tan Vibes #4 (LE) is lighter (95% similar). NARS Nico (P, $30.00) is lighter, less shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tan & Flash Cruise #5 is a medium-dark brown with warm, yellowy undertones and a satin finish. There are two variations of By Terry’s Sun Designer Palettes ($82.00 for 0.53 oz.), which have six different shades in each. Full reviews to come 🙂

Tan & Flash Cruise

By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balms

By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm
By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm

By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is supposed to hydrate, “fill in wrinkles and fine lines,” while also smoothing and “boost[ing] volume.” It is a tinted lip balm, in simpler terms, with semi-sheer color coverage, glossy finish, and designed to keep your lips looking and feeling better. Overall, the formula is moderately hydrating and comfortable to wear with a creamy consistency that has enough slip that it doesn’t cling, but it doesn’t glide right off the lips either. I didn’t notice an increase in volume, and it didn’t seem like it helped to fill in lines, but the hydration did linger beyond the initial application. The formula is rose-scented and a slight, almost perfume-y taste. They’re also shorter-wearing, which isn’t a real surprise, but you’ll likely need to reapply throughout the day to maintain the color.

By Terry Bare Balm (1) Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a very light, pale pinkish-white with light shine and cool undertones. It had semi-sheer color coverage that applied somewhat evenly. Though the formula is supposed to help fill in fine lines, it seemed weakest in that aspect, and the very light color of this shade settled into lip lines as it wore. On me, this shade lasted for two and a half hours. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

By Terry Innocent Kiss (2) Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, peach with a hint of pink and lighter beige shimmer. It had semi-sheer color payoff with noticeable translucency, so if your natural lip colors are darker, you may find this looks a bit different. It applied evenly and smoothly, and it wore well for three hours with very minor settling into lip lines. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

By Terry Nude Pulp (3) Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, light-medium pink with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. This shade yielded semi-sheer color coverage that was very even and smooth–it looked like a stain but still had the balm-like shine. It lasted for two hours on me, which was the major downside, but the slightly thinner consistency (compared to other shades) kept it from having color that settled into lip lines. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

By Terry Sheer Glow (4) Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a peachy-orange with warm, yellow undertones and a very fine dusting of gold pearl. It had sheer color coverage–the least pigmented of the five–with a glossy finish and comfortable, hydrating wear. On me, it lasted for two hours and tended to sit in lines. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

By Terry Flush Contour (5) Hyaluronic Sheer Nude Hydra-Balm ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with warm, copper-red undertones and a light shine. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that went on fairly evenly and smoothly. The formula was comfortable to wear, moderately hydrating, while the color wore for three hours. See comparison swatches/ compare dupes side-by-side.
