Citrus wore for four and a half hours, and I’ve probably worn it half a dozen times since photographing it a few weeks ago. I recently added it to the other two Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lipglosses I keep in my purse for on-the-go color. It tints my natural lip color a darker coral color; it’s not really opaque such that it masks my natural lip color, but it does significantly alter mine by darkening and brightening it. It has a high shimmer content that makes it less see-through. Overall, I’d say it’s closer to being semi-sheer than semi-opaque, but the shimmer masks some of that sheerness. The range varies from sheer to semi-sheer bordering on semi-opaque. It’s moisturizing, comfortable to wear, and not gritty (nor does the sparkle travel).
For a semi-sheer sparkling coral gloss, Citrus is a great pick. It wears well, is hydrating, and the sparkle won't travel all over your face while you wear it!

Bobbi Brown Uber Suede High Shimmer Lipgloss ($23.00 for 0.24 fl. oz.) is described as a “mid-tone golden beige.” It’s a medium-dark brown with yellow undertones and pink and gold shimmer. NARS More is the closest in color, but it doesn’t have any shimmer and looks a bit more like a lipstick when applied. Bobbi Brown Canary has similar gold sparkle but has no real base color. MAC Bright & Perky is sheerer.
Uber Suede is mostly opaque, and it applies evenly without settling into lip lines. It’s a warmer brown, but it doesn’t look too orange or red. The formula is hydrating, comfortable to wear, and the sparkle doesn’t travel. This shade wore five hours on me, which is longer than average. It has a mint scent with no discernible taste. The texture isn’t too thick or too thin, and it is non-sticky.
This is definitely a more modern brown--it's more like a variation on nude, and deeper complexions will look exceptionally lovely in a shade like this.

It’s not too red, but if you have natural pink tones in your coloring, it might not be the best coral (you might look for something with a stronger peach hue). The texture is soft but not powdery, dry but not stiff. It blends easily and evenly, and it packs plenty of color payoff. You don’t have to worry about having to use the lightest hand with the most feathery blush to apply it, but you can easily go from sheer to dramatic without having to pile on the product. When I tested the shade, Coral lasted eight hours without fading.
A shimmery coral that's more sheen than shimmer, not too frosty, but not perfectly matte either. It wears well, blends easily, and has great pigmentation!

Inspired by Bobbi’s seventh book, Pretty Powerful Beauty Stories, Bobbi introduces the Uber Basics collection — shades for every woman. This collection will give every woman — no matter what her skin tone — the essentials she needs to go from Pretty to Pretty Powerful, day to night. Highlighting the simplicity of Bobbi’s Uber Basic look, the collection is organized into four color stories, with a corresponding Eye Shadow, Sparkle Eye Shadow, Blush, Rich Lip Color and High Shimmer Lip Gloss.
Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss ($23.00 for 0.24 fl. oz.) is described as a “hot pink with pearl.” it’s a translucent light-medium pink with lots of silver sparkle. On my lips, it enhances the natural pink coloring found in my lips and gives them a truer pink look (less washed out, since my natural lip color is rather corpse-like). If you have more pigmented lips, it’s going to resemble clear gloss with a truckload of sparkle. MAC Floating Lotus is lighter and has finer shimmer. MAC Sweet Bean has finer shimmer. Bobbi Brown Pastel is much lighter, milkier. MAC Sueprglass has flaky shimmer instead.
Having a gloss like this in your stash is worthwhile, but it’s not necessarily a shade you need to have several versions of, because a lot of those differences get lost on the lips. I’ve been reaching for this gloss often when I need something to wear for blush photos or in a video and don’t have a light enough lip color that might work, because a lot of the fall eye products have been pretty dark (as have the lip products; neither is a surprise). Super shiny, glossy enough to give lips a fuller look, and gorgeous sparkle that shimmers and dazzles. It’s semi-sheer to semi-opaque but there’s an obvious translucency, as the natural lip color most definitely will come through, but there’s a lot of sparkle–so the more light that catches the shimmer, the more opaque it looks (see the difference between the flash and studio lit photos).
Bobbi Brown’s High Shimmer Lipgloss is a staple product for me. If you forced me to commit to a single gloss formula, I’d go here. I can say that without hesitation, and I really can’t do that with most products. I will equivocate and hum and haw and tell you it depends on the shade or occasion or the like, because it’s usually true, and it’s hard to pick one favorite and commit to it. This formula is high-shine, non-sticky, comfortable and hydrating to wear, wears well, and has shimmer that really wows. It never feels gritty, and Pink Tulle, despite its subtle color, lasts a solid four hours on me. Bobbi Brown’s glosses are mint-scented and come with a doe-foot applicator. Bonus: also includes more gloss than the average one does.
Having a gloss like this in your stash is worthwhile, but it's not necessarily a shade you need to have several versions of, because a lot of those differences get lost on the lips.

Bobbi Brown Twilight Night Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($22.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “black plum and golden pearl.” It’s a blackened purple with flecks of gold sparkle. When it’s sheered out, it tends to look grayer and almost brown-ish with only a hint of purple. MAC Ash Violet is much lighter and more of a real purple hue. Make Up For Ever #6L is lighter, more red-toned, no gold shimmer. MAC Added Goodness is similar–perhaps a little browner.
This shade is new for fall but has been added to the permanent range, so there’s no rush to grab it before it sells out. Bobbi Brown’s Gel Eyeliner formula is supposed to be long-wearing, water-resistant, and crease- and smudge-proof. There’s a reason why this formula is a cult favorite, and that’s simply because it’s good–it wears for hours and hours and doesn’t move until you remove it. It sets fairly quickly; fast enough that you don’t feel like you’re waiting for it to set in place. It’s housed in a small glass jar with a black screw-top lid. I’ve had some for years, and I haven’t encountered any that have dried out over time.
I will note that nearly all variations with shimmer in them are not quite as top notch as the cream-based ones. They’re still really good, high-quality eyeliners, though. The slight difference is the pigmentation is typically not as rich. Here, with Twilight Night, it’s nicely pigmented but doesn’t apply fully opaque in a single stroke (I’d say you get to about 90 to 95% as you pull your brush across the lash line). The shimmer doesn’t travel, though. When I tested the wear, it managed to stay intact without fading or smudging for a full eight hours.
