Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Sheer Color Cheek Tint
Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Sheer Color Cheek Tint

Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Sheer Color Cheek Tint ($26.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “golden pink bronze.” It’s a rosy bronze with a champagne shimmer. , which looks almost plummy. Because it’s just a wash of color, all of the shades that are similar are much more pigmented and are also powder blushes. Bobbi Brown Nude Beach (a powder) is very similar but matte. NARS Lovejoy is more plum. bareMinerals The Indecent Proposal is also more plum. See comparison swatches.

Based on the actual tint of this, it’s not going to be particularly useful on medium or deeper complexions–it gets completetely lost on my skin tone, which is just a smidgen lighter than true medium. Instead, what you see is mostly a dewy sheen but no visible color. On a fairer complexion, I think you’ll see a glorious tint of plummy bronze–should be quite lovely–but be wary of the wear time, especially if you have an oilier skin type (I’m normal-to-dry). The sheen (and I could see some of the shimmer bits upclose) lasted a mere four hours, and it’s best applied over bare skin. It didn’t play well with liquid foundation after a few hours and caused it to look a bit patchy.

All in all, I love the concept. The consistency is gel-like and glides on so well without skipping, and being sheer and just a tint, it’s impossible to overdo and effortless to blend. It would be nice if it was slightly more buildable, so it could be usable for a variety of skin tones, and it could use improvement on wear time, as I felt like it never set–it was always a bit wet and slightly tacky.

Bobbi Brown Air Kiss Tube Tint
Bobbi Brown Air Kiss Tube Tint

Bobbi Brown Air Kiss Tube Tint ($19.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “pink nude.” It’s a warm, light-medium peach with a hint of pink. There’s no shimmer in this one, just a jelly-ish consistency and look. On my lips, it’s mostly just something that adds shine and an illusion of fuller, smoother lips but not a lot of color–but note how it makes my lip freckle look faded, so there’s “coverage” but my natural lip color is so close that it doesn’t really look like it. The thicker consistency helped prevent this from settling into lip lines as many milky glosses do. Shades like Dior No Angel and Chanel Zephyr are similar in color but have shimmer. Shade slike MAC Summer Sweetheart, MAC Kiss Me Softly, and MAC Boy Bait are closer. See comparison swatches.

Bronzed Pink Tube Tint ($19.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “golden bronze pink.” It’s a gold and copper-shimmered bronze with warm, golden undertones. This shade tinted my lips a brownish-gray color but just slightly, and most noticeably, added a healthy amount of shimmer. It was hard to keep even, though. Dior Etincelante is more shimmery. Revlon Rosegold is similar. Dior Lame Gold is sheerer. Chanel Attirance is more shimmery. Bobbi Brown Canary is more shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Tube Tints are supposed to be aa gloss with just a “hint-of-color,” which coordinates with Bobbi Brown’s Nude Beach collection. If you’re just looking for some shine and sheer color, it’s worth checking out because it comes with so much product–a lot of gloss in squeeze tubes have two or three times gloss that comes in a round tube, and this formula is no exception. The texture is thick (like a balm in a squeeze-tube) but not a goopy, syrupy thick, non-sticky, and both shades wore three hours on me. They had a very faint hint of vanilla but no taste. They’re also nicely hydrating both during wear but also left my lips hydrated a few hours after they had worn off.

The texture is thick, so it might be heavy if you don't wear a lot of gloss, but it's not sticky, so it doesn't feel goopy or syrupy on the lips. I liked how this didn't settle into lips.

This one didn't apply so evenly, and the shimmer did bunch up in places, but it was hydrating and comfortable to wear.

Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Face & Body Bronzing Duo
Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Face & Body Bronzing Duo

Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Face & Body Bronzing Duo ($42.00 for 0.60 oz.) consists of a bronzer and blush that can be used individually or blended together.  It’s not your typical bronzer, because it’s not an orange/tan-based one, and those who tend to prefer slightly reddish tones to their blush/bronzer in the summer may like the shades included in this duo.  I wasn’t keen on the texture and blendability of the bronzer, unfortunately, as it was difficult to get it to look even and smooth on the skin.  Both shades wore well for seven and a half hours, and after eight hours, I noticed some slight fading along the edges.

Nude Beach Blush is a dirty, reddish-plum with a matte finish. It had good color intensity, and the texture was soft, finely-milled, and fairly easy to blend out on the cheeks. NARS Seduction is bolder, darker, redder. NARS Lovejoy is similar in color but has more shimmer. bareMinerals The Indecent Proposal is slightly cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.

Nude Beach Bronzer is a dirty, plummy-brown with subtle warm undertones and a satiny sheen. This shade was sheerer, though still somewhat buildable. I had similar issues with blending, though, where it was difficult to soften or diffuse the edges of the color. It looked somewhat splotchy applied as a result. MAC Stylish Me is warmer, lighter. MAC Earthshine is darker, browner. See comparison swatches.

Bobbi Brown Taupe Sparkle Eyeshadow
Bobbi Brown Taupe Sparkle Eyeshadow

Bobbi Brown Taupe Sparkle Eyeshadow ($28.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a yellowy, medium-dark brown with a dirty champagne sparkle/shimmer. I don’t quite see taupe–I think it’s too warm-toned, too golden and brown to be a true taupe. It’s yellower than Bobbi Brown Cement. Too Faced Cinnamon Sugar is browner. MAC Cactus Thorn is similar in color but has a more pearled finish. Dior Golden Savannah #1 is darker and has a satin finish. Urban Decay Suspect is browner and darker.

I like Bobbi Brown’s Sparkle formula, because it doesn’t have as much fall out as other sparkly eyeshadows, though it is not immune to it. Taupe has minor fall out where there are some detectable stray sparkles underneath the lid, but not enough that the person standing next to you would ask, “What’s that on your face?” The texture is smooth and almost feels wet to the touch, but it glides on well and the sparkles bind and adhere with the underlying color. It has good color payoff, and it wore for eight hours with minor fall out but no fading or creasing.

If you love the idea of sparkly eyeshadows but find they're too often sheer or have tons of fall out, you might try Bobbi Brown's formula. I've had better luck with it (generally), though it is not completely free from fall out!

Bobbi Brown Pink Rose Blush
Bobbi Brown Pink Rose Blush

Bobbi Brown Pink Rose Blush ($25.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “dusty pink.” It’s a softened, medium-dark pink with subtle cool undertones and a matte finish. NARS Mata Hari is a bolder, brighter version. MAC Prom Princess is darker and cooler-toned. MAC Subtle Breeze is a smidgen cooler-toned.

It’s supposed to be a “silky-sheer powder blush that … gives cheeks a … natural-looking pop of color” with a matte finish and long-wear. It can be applied as a veil of sheer color, and in fact, does better when applied that way, but it is buildable to heavier color. Pink Rose had a stubborn texture; dry, stiff, and difficult to work with. It was challenging to dislodge enough product to get even, consistent color, and the powder didn’t want to blend easily on the cheeks, either. I really felt like I had to jab at the surface to get any color payoff or product out of the pan. It’s a shame as the color cold be very workable on both cool and warm-toned skin as a subtler, everyday kind of shade but also as something more dramatic once built up. The product managed to wear mostly intact for about eight hours, but it was hard to determine, as it looked patchy initially (so, so difficult to blend!).

The color could have been very versatile, but the texture prevented this blush from working well -- it was stiff and dry, which made it hard to get color to apply and then even harder to blend it out.
