At Home with Beauty: Sleep Pillow Mist
Bath & Body Works’ Sleep Pillow Mist in Lavender Chamomile ($10.00) is an easy way to add a little more relaxation to the end of your day. Whether it’s the blend of lavender and chamomile or just the simple act of taking thirty seconds to consciously take a few deep breaths and relax… it does have a calming effect.
It’s a quick-drying lightly scented product that you just spritz as you please. I personally would spritz two or three times on the edge of my sheets (areas where my face wouldn’t touch), which was enough for the scent to reach my nose, but not overwhelming. The scent is light enough that you could definitely spray it on your pillow (for those with less sensitive/acne-prone skin), though. It doesn’t stain or leave any residue behind once it dries. The scent fades by morning, so you will need to reapply regularly.
If you really want a relaxing experience, I highly recommend doubling-up and lotioning up from head to toe with matching body lotion ($13.00). The scent may certainly relax you, but so will the act of massaging the body lotion into your skin before you slip between the sheets. One of my favorite features of B&BW products is that if you like a scent or find one that really works for you… you can often find it in just about every other body care product you’d need. Matching made easy!

Recommendation: If you don’t always fall asleep once your head hits the pillow, you might want to try adding some lavender to your nightly ritual!

True Blue Naked Cotton Dress Shea Light Body Lotion ($15.00 for 6.7 oz.) is a lightweight body lotion that keeps moderate-to-dry skin well-hydrated and feeling silky soft. In a market saturated with body creams and souffles, a body lotion is always a welcome addition. The product absorbs into skin quickly, and it is easily spread over each part of your body–you don’t have to keep going back for more.
One of my favorite parts about this body lotion was the clean, lightweight scent. It is light enough to be able to layer it with your favorite perfume without a funny combination, but yet it is still detectable if you choose to wear it alone. If you know what B&BW’s “Cotton Blossom” smells like, it is similar with the same soft cotton-ish scent, but it is much, much lighter and more subtle smelling. I’m a big fan of clean scents myself, so this one is a keeper!
Slowly but surely, I am becoming a big fan of B&BW’s True Blue Spa line. (Hello, anyone remember their Just a Minute Manicure Scrub?!)

Aromatherapy Optimism – Bright Blossoms Sudsing Scrub ($13.00) is a body scrub that foams up while exfoliating the skin. It smells like jasmine and spring to me. It contains small sugar grains that help you exfoliate your skin. A lot of exfoliating products don’t foam up, so it’s nice to see one that does. It feels pretty gentle against the skin, and the sugar granules melt against the skin after they’ve been massaged into the skin. You get a good amount for your buck, and I tend to cheap out for shower products–if only because so much ends up down the drain!
I like using this one with a loofah, which I can’t do with a lot of body scrubs, because it does foam up quite a bit. It lathers really well (much like a regular body wash) so a loofah is just perfect for getting suds up from head to toe.
