Butter London Thames Nail Lacquer
Butter London Thames Nail Lacquer
Butter London Thames Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a “soft, blue-green stunner with just a tiny undercurrent of gold.” It’s a rich, luxurious green-teal with subtle shimmer. I didn’t get a lot of gold shimmer, as it seemed more white/silver to me (even in bright light). I was able to achieve opaque color in two coats. The formula was easy to work with, because it wasn’t too thick or thin, flowed evenly across the nail, and didn’t streak. There were a few brush strokes in the resulting look, but they were very subtle. I typically get a week of wear with Butter London’s formula with a proper base and top coat.
The color reminded me of the shimmer in MAC Jade Dragon (which has a very inky green-tinged black base). Duri Paparazzi is the closest dupe I found from my past swatches, but it is much greener (not really a teal at all).
Where to Buy: Beauty.com, $14
The Glossover
If you love jewel-toned nail colors, Thames is a really lovely shade that intertwines blue and green to create teal, but then sometimes it leans green, sometimes it leans blue.

Beauty.com, $14.
Is it limited edition?
No.
Any dupes?

I'm so happy this is such a dupe-able shade i have nail polishes in my collection that are the same color!
This is like the same amazing shade as a few drug store polishes I own, except I like mine better because of the perfectly sparkly but subtle glitter. I bet this formula is better, but I still think even the shitty brand at Rite Aid "Jessie's Girl" has a much better (albeit different). I like that this isn't streaky though! This color is always beautiful... reminds me of mermaids!
Love the teal if it had a shimmer of gold it would look like butterfly wings, (think gold sheen in Chanel pearl drop!)
OMG!!!! I LOVE this!!! can´t wait to get it, love this color!!!! looks so pretty!!! excited and happy :O)
This color looks gorgeous in the bottle, but I wish it was a little darker on the nails. Fortunately someone mentioned Viridian and I checked that out. Think I'll be picking that one up instead! Both gorgeous though
Thanks. I am new to these polishes. Have Artful Dodger;wanted a green that shimmered and was a bit more dramatic. This is it. Appreciate you showing pics.
This is a real beauty! I think this one is going on my wish list at drugstore.com for next order I put in there on the Beauty.com side.
Just bought a couple of Butter nail polishes the other day and I hate the brush and handle. It is so small and stubby and makes it so hard to get decent coats. So disappointing.
I keep buying teal shades like this that show a hint of purple flash in the bottle, but it never shows up on the nail. Based on the description I know this particular shade is not supposed to have any purple, but if it did, I'd be all over it.
This looks like a Sephora by OPI shade. It actually looks identical to it; I think it's called Mermaid? Or it might be Skinny Jeans. I really can't remember. But it looks pretty.
Here's Viridian on me - http://www.temptalia.com/illamasqua-viridian-nail-varnish-review-photos-swatches It seems darker and bluer, not as teal in natural light and then really green in bright light!
I did comparison swatches and Christine's right, they're nothing like each other on the nail (though they look similar in the bottles).
WOW I so love this color!!!! I don't know if I could spend that much on a naili polish :( It's so beautiful though! Since it's not limited maybe sometime in the future I'll splurge on this awesome color.
This is a lovely color. Despite being a teal fan, I don't think I have ever owned a shade quite like this one!
Oh my gosh, this color is stunning! I think I may have some polishes similar, but I still can't help but want this one too
Thank you for testing this !!! I've been searching for swatches for ages. I read that some people felt that it wasn't opaque enough but the colour is so beautiful that it will be my next buy all the same. *o*
This reminds me of NYX Jungle! (Which I love) Not a dupe at all, just reminiscant in terms of colour and finish.
