Butter London Lippy Launches

butter LONDON™, the cult phenomenon of the nail industry, built their reputation on cutting edge colour. Their 3 Free nail lacquers are create backstage at Fashion Week and have made their way from catwalk to sidewalk in record time. This season, butter LONDON™ will expand their hold on colour with the launch of LIPPY, a range of long-wearing, lacquer-like lip glosses in shades to match their famous nail lacquers.

As a backstage fixture, the brand noticed a growing trend for S/S 2012 in “matchy-matchy” manicures, pedicures, and lips. This elegant, classic look is making a comeback, but modernized with fresh new colours. The LIPPY colours are rich and densely pigmented for a look that’s deliberate, high fashion, and luxe, just like the brand’s nail lacquers.

How strange! I was just looking at Butter London swatches on Google, though I’d check here for new stuff and the first thing I see is Butter London ^_^ The lip glosses look really nice, I hope they’re good quality, I bet they cost a bit.

I hope you’ll get one of the lippies to review. I swatched the light coral lippie at Ulta yesterday and while it was pretty darned opaque, I thought it was super sticky. I’m curious to know how it feels on lips.

What a great idea!! Don’t know where I can get them online, in Europe. Anyone does?

It’s like the Butter London gods were listening when I said that I loved the color of trout pout but would prefer it for my lips instead of my nails.

Aw, man- I love Butter London, but the word “lippy” makes me cringe. And of course the one I want is Trout Pout :P

  7. I was just looking at the BL site yesterday when I saw these! Thought it was weird that I hadn’t heard of them (same thing for the American Apparel glosses I also saw yesterday).

I tested the glosses on my hand at Ulta recently, and they were SO sticky. I mean, like glue. I’m sure they stay on for a long time, but I will not be buying them. ICKY STICKY! And I am a huge Butter London polish fan.

    Hello All,
I felt compelled to comment ( which I hardly ever do) when seeing this pop up on my FB page. I love
Butter London polishes and was equally as fascinated with my new Lippy purchase, that is until I swiped it
across my lips. I was instantly let down; I picked up the shade “Trout Pout” and although the color is gorgeuos
the formula is horrible! It is very sticky and the color was more milky instead of the beautiful coral shade you see on the packaging . The scent is very sweet and kind of fruity. I could have dealt with that but for the amount of money I expected better quality. Even after wiping it off my lips my hair still managed to get stuck when the wind blew. I wanted to love these however, I returned it. I’m anxious to hear what Christine will think of them. A word of advice –> If you live near an Ulta, I highly urge you to go and swatch for yourself. I would not order online.

I tried the trout one on, the peachy color and I LOVED it! It has a great consistency! I will for sure be wearing this one a lot for spring!

i like sticky lipglosses, so I guess I am weird! :)

I know a lot of people who like sticky lip glosses, I’m just not one of them. I think they stay on for a long time, but I’d rather reapply than have glue on my lips.

You can get these at ULTA stores if you want to actually try them out.
They are indeed a THICKER gloss and very opaque and I love a thick gloss. I feel like they show all the lines in your lips unless you wear them very thin or with the addition of a additional gloss.
Kind of task like you sprayed perfum on your mouth. If that makes sense. Odd smell flavor.

  12. god, these are beautiful! need immediately. can’t wait for swatches :)

I bought Trout Pout and Mummy mummy at ulta. This lippy taste like u spray some perfume on u r mouth makes me sick.
I had to return them. I don’t have problem with sticky lipgloss and it’s opaque but taste i can’t stand it.
