butter LONDON Blowing Raspberries Nail Lacquer
butter LONDON Blowing Raspberries Nail Lacquer

butter LONDON Blowing Raspberries Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a rich, dark raspberry red–a gorgeous mix of pink and red–with a cream finish.   I used two coats for opaque color.

my thoughts on the formula: This cream finished polish has such a smooth, maneuverable formula–nicely pigmented (needed only two coats) and applies beautifully without bubbling or streaking. It wore for a full seven days without chipping.  The formula was thin without being watery and made for really easy application.

A+
It's been awhile since I've used a butter LONDON polish it seems like, because I was so dazzled by how this shade applied--absolutely flawless!

This type of red is hard to pull off without looking old cat lady like….
    Pretty good…

7 days without chipping? How I wish I could even find this polish here in S. Ontario. I’d never even heard of it til seeing this! We are off to the US this weekend for a bit of shopping (the CDN dollar is thriving) so I may keep my eyes peeled for this!

    • To be fair, there’s no brand that I know of that doesn’t last seven days on me, though!

    • Nadia

Mariella: not sure if you have a Holt Renfrew in your area but they carry Butter London polishes.

    • Tabitha

They sell it at Holt Renfrew and a few fancy beauty shops I have seen, they will also ship to Canadians online which I love about Butter London because so few companies will.

    • Nat

You can get Butter London polishes at Holt Renfrew and Delineation at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto.

    • Diana

Mariella — you can purchase Butter London at Holt Renfrew!

    • The full range of butter London polishes and some of their other products are available at Pistachio which is located a few blocks north of Eglington on Yonge (in Toronto)

I’m a one day nail polish lady myself. I always find that it chips SO easily on me. I have pretty weak nails though, and every week I’m in a chemistry lab using acetone to clean glassware XD

Raspberry is one of my favourite colours though, so I might just have to look out for a dupe of this!

    • CeeBee

      SNAP.

Me too! I work in a chemistry lab and I work so hard to keep my nails nice but more often than not I ruin them with acetone… (sigh)

      ;-)

Pretty colour, but not terribly unique. I find the trouble with polishes is that there are many beautiful colours, but what it comes down to for me is the longevity and ease of application which is hard to test for in a store. So thanks for the nailpolish reviews, you do the impossible for me :)

  5. This looks lovely! I need to stop buying so much nail polish!

  6. Angela H.

    Nice shade.

    WOW! Such a beautiful color!!
    Love it! =)

  8. I love Butter London, their formula is fantastic. I have three of the Spring collection shades and two of them lasted so well, the other wore a bit along the tip. My nails are quite brittle so they easily make the polish flake off but I was very impressed with this brand. They are so expensive over here though, £12 a pop.

  9. Cristina

Christine, do you think nail polishes last 7 days on you because of your nails or thanks to a specific base coat and top coat?

What are your favorite products to keep nail polish on for a long time?

    • I think it might just be my nails – I mean, not JUST my nails, but more than not – I do tend to use Zoya Anchor + Armor as my base/top coat of choice.

  10. CeeBee

    OMG, PRETTY! So, so gorgeous.

I don’t often immediately fall in love with nail polish shades but that is something I MUST have!

I’d love this as a pedicure shade :)

  12. Flavinha

I like the package more than the color! :P

  13. Elaine

I was never a nailpolish girl – until butter LONDON. Nailpolishes always chip within a day for me (OPI, Essie, drugstore brands, etc), but butter LONDON lived up to their reputation 100% for me. I bought their base and top coats as well, which have helped extend the wear of other nailpolishes I own, but I can wear BL for up to 10 days without it chipping. it’s AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! plus, their colour selection is incredible.

  14. Pretty. Reminds me of a lighter version of OPI Conquistadorable Color.

  15. helen

butter LONDON is one of my favourite go-to brands. I’m a big fan of Fash Pack (wearing it right now). Not overly thrilled with Blowing Raspberries but you (as always) make it work.

This color is so gorgeous!! Do you know of a lipstick that’s the exact same shade and creme finish as this? I’ve been looking for one like this and I still haven’t found it.

  17. So pretty! The only BL shade I have is Macbeth (I think? It’s a coral), which I got on sale at a Kitson’s that was having a huge clearance thing.

  18. Kathy

SO pretty! I’ve been heavily into raspberry-colored polishes lately, so this particular color makes me drool! Haha.

  19. I know it’s quite far to be a dupe, but it somehow reminds me of China Glaze Ahoy! :)

  20. Mikaela

Ahh! I love everything make up related in the color raspberry!
Amazing :) Need to hunt one down next week on my NYC trip :)(we dont have butter london in Finland)

  21. LOVE the color! It will be so great for this summer!

  22. ak

It’s a beautiful color! On the fingernails and toenails. I better look out for that one!

  23. Elfa

I am obsessed with butter london polishes right now. I’ve never been a nail polish girl, but their formula is the best and I love their color selection and cute bottles.

  24. Danni

Thank you so much for doing these Butter London reviews! I have “Hail to McQueen” and love it! Want to get more but just not sure which ones since they are not sold at local stores.

  25. v beautiful n strong color…!!

  26. BrainSlushee

Blowing Raspberries looks different on the Nordstrom site. Does it actually look this way in person?
