Bobbi Brown Cosmic Pink Sheer Color Lip Gloss

Bobbi Brown Cosmic Pink Sheer Color Lip Gloss ($23.00 for 0.24 fl. oz.) is described as a “sheer neon pink.” If the formula name didn’t give it away: this gloss is designed to be sheer. It may look neon pink in the tube, but it gave my lips a tinted pink look–just a more intensified pink of my natural lip color (which looks like a corpse’s lips). Chanel Pink Pulsion is a bit more pigmented. MAC Electro Lush is more pigmented and shimmered.

The formula is mostly non-sticky, but I did detect a slight tackiness that developed over the time that I wore this shade (which lasted for just under three hours). Like the brand’s other glosses, it is mint-scented. The gloss adds a lot of shine without a lot of product; it has a lightweight look and feel–doesn’t look like you’re wearing a layer of gloss.  It’s so-so as far as hydration goes; no chapped or dried out lips post-use, but it doesn’t seem to have any moisture once it disappears.

Having a ton of sheer glosses like this is probably unnecessary for most, but having a few in your arsenal is always a good idea. They’re great to keep in your bag for a little color and shine that will go with anything, and they work well to add a glossy layer to any lipstick. Just remember: they’re supposed to be sheer, so if you only like opaque glosses, this isn’t designed with you in mind!

I think since a lot of people use sheer glosses as a way to layer, it would be really cool if you gave examples of how you would use it.

Does anyone know of a lipgloss that looks like the colour of this one in the tube when it's on your lips? The colour is so pretty, but my lips are very pigmented so sheer glosses are useless for me :(

What blush/eyeshadows/foundation are you wearing? You look fantastic.

No eyeshadow, just MAC Undercurrent eyeliner. I don't remember the foundation, and the blush was a mix of Bobbi Brown Nude Peach and Nude Pink!

looks pretty cute :D i love the non-shimmerness

You do NOT have corpse lips! Sure, they aren't red, but there's nothing wrong with that. Mine aren't red either (unless they're chapped).

Not to be awkward, but the mark on your lip is absolutely gorgeous. It makes you unique, and it makes me envious!

lol - not quite a corpse's lips Christine! But it did just occur to me - not having super pigmented lips could be a great thing as you get a more true colour out of your lip products without the pink or red tint of natural colours changing it!

It's one of those half full/half empty things - at least with naturally pigmented lips, you don't have to put anything on and still have gorgeous lips! ;)

Ooh, that's a really nice one! Just enough color to be worth it and not look completely clear.

This looks similar to Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in Crush, but a little bit less pigmented.

I bet you didn't know growing up how useful your lip freckles would become. I used them to judge how sheer glosses are!

I was just wondering, will you be swatching/reviewing the YSL vernis à lévres?

this looks so goregous! definitely going to have to check it out :)

You hit the nail on the head about what I love about Cosmic Pink, it just brightens my lips up enough that it looks like I have brighter lips and I am wearing a clear gloss. Really great for a "no makeup" look. I'm glad to see that it's not LE! When it first came out in the Neons & Nudes collection I was thinking that it's silly for it to be an LE since it's such a good staple to have.
