Bobbi Brown Chocolate/Bronze Dual-Ended Eyeliner

Bobbi Brown Chocolate/Bronze Dual-Ended Eyeliner ($24.00 for 0.02 oz.) is described as a “dark brown” and “golden chocolate.” Why a brand comes out with a limited edition eyeliner formula will never make sense to me, but Bobbi Brown’s done it this season with a dual-ended eyeliner that’s long-wearing, pigmented, and silky smooth. One shade is designed to brighten while the other to define.

  • Chocolate is a dark chocolate brown with warm, red undertones. It’s fairly opaque in a single go, but it delivers full color coverage with two passes. It’s similar to MAC Brown Border and Chanel Brun-Teak.
  • Bronze is a medium-dark coppery brown with flecks of bronze and copper shimmer. It’s nearly opaque in one pass. It’s similar to Urban Decay Bourbon, but this has a redder base. Chanel Brun-Cuivre seems similar.

I’m totally peeved these are limited edition, because the formula on these is excellent! These are easily some of the softest eyeliners I’ve ever come across, but here’s where they excel: they’re actually long-wearing. Typically, the creamier the eyeliner, the less likely it is to actually remain on the lash line by the end of the day. Bobbi Brown’s new and limited edition dual-ended eyeliners stay put extraordinarily well but still have that ultra creamy, oh-so-soft texture that makes application dreamy. These glide on like butter, feel like silk on, and don’t budge, smudge, or migrate.

Besides the limited edition nature of the eyeliner, these are half the size of your average pencil eyeliner. Most pencil eyeliners are 0.04 oz., while this one is only 0.02 oz. Plus, Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Eyeliner (which is 0.04 oz.) is only $20. Up the size (or lower the price) and make these permanent, please!

Up the size (or lower the price) and make these permanent, please! Surprisingly long-wearing for such a creamy formula--definitely work checking out next time you're near a Bobbi Brown counter.

I would definitely buy these if it wasn't for the small size and the expensive price - at the very most, they should be around $15!

For Bobbi Brown, I wouldn't expect $15 - but I think it could be more in line with her other pencil eyeliners!

If you love this combo then you will really go crazy for the caviar/ gold one. I have them both, but find the cav/gld much more on trend! Im also loving Sephora's holiday set of LM mini eye pencils-- because it contains all of her best shades!!

Thanks for the tip, PJ!

That bronze is GORGEOUS... but $24 USD is way too much for an eyeliner. If they were priced comparatively to my mainstay eyeliner (Urban Decay) I'd consider purchasing.

I wouldn't expect BB to ever price it that way - but I would expect it to be in line with their price point, which is higher than Urban Decay. Their other pencil eyeliner is $20, so that is what I'd expect to see here :)

I think if they just took the "dual ended" aspect out of them, and made them one color per liner, that would be much better price wise, because it seems like you are getting so little of each color for the price since they are dual ended. BUT I did order this anyways, because I have a weakness for bronze eyeliners and I love anything BB. I'm glad to know it's a good product!

WANT! Too bad I prolly won't get them since they're limited edition... :(

Maybe she'll make them permanent :)

I have this and love it! The bronze side is one of the prettiest shades I have ever used. I'm thinking about adding one or both of the other colors in this pencil. I saw them swatched when I bought this one & they were gorgeous too!

I agree! Superrrr pretty!

Hi Christine, how does it compare to Giorgio Armani's La Femme Bleue Spring 2011 eyeliner? Or Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner?

Sorry, I haven't tried either of those!

How long did you test them for and how long did they stay on you?

4 different days, 12 hours.

I totally agree with your review! I bought the black and silver combo and it's Bobbi's best pencil formula yet! Her other eye pencils are so dry and tug at the eye. I also think the new pencils should be larger. I can actually see myself using the entire pencil.

The Silver REALLY pops for some reason!

While the formula does look awesome from the swatches, I'm not super excited about an expensive, limited edition brown/bronze eyeliner. The shades are pretty easy to get in similar colors, for less.

They definitely seem overpriced + could use a little more product!

I have this pencil and absolutely love it... looks great, as all Bobbi'e eyeliners do and it wears like one of her gel eyeliners... Bobbi, please if you read this, leave this in the line and add more colors!

I'm surprised at how well it performs!

I can't believe these are LE. *pouts*

I know, right? They're too good to be LE!

Those look very pretty, the problem with Bobbi Brown is that it's so expensive.

And so little in these :(

I agree. I think Bobbi Brown thinks everyone makes the kind of income she does and we can afford those ridiculously high prices. I try to avoid the brand now.
