Benefit Cha Cha Tint
Benefit Cha Cha Tint
Coming in June, Benefit Cha Cha Tint ($29.00 for 0.42 fl. oz.) is described as a “mango-tinted lip & cheek stain.” It has the same feel and formula as Posietint (in contrast to Benetint, which doesn’t look creamy or milky). Though it looks rather bright and orange when you initially remove the applicator, it’s a much subtler color when used. It’s a very gentle blushing of peach with orange underpinnings (no pink here!). I patted the color on my cheeks with about three light pats, then lightly blended with my fingertips.
This is a great product for summer months when the weather gets hot, activities head outdoors, and traveling picks up. It wears all day (12 hours) as a soft, peachy flush and really does look natural–just as a stain should. What’s nice about Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint formula is that there is just enough to blend it out without having to worry about waiting for it to dry. It works well over or underfoundation as well as on bare skin. If you plan to wear it under foundation, just remember you’ll want to build the color up to slightly more than what you want, as foundation over it will mute some of the color, depending on the coverage level of your foundation.
The texture is that thickened water–it’s relatively thin and liquidy. The color is buildable by layering the color or applying more (again, I used three soft, tiny dots of color on my cheeks). It won’t get quite as intense as the color looks in the heavier swatch, but the formula is supposed to be sheer and add just a flush to skin.
It can also be used on lips, and it works well there–better than Posietint for me. It added a surprising amount of color to my lips, though; kind of a brighter, apricot pink. Because of my natural lip color, the color it tints my lips isn’t quite the same as my cheeks! It wore well on lips, too–about eight hours.
The Glossover
For quick and easy summery color, Cha Cha will make a nice addition to your makeup bag.

Hey Christine! I know it's called a lip & cheek stain but does that mean it's not eye-safe? Has anyone ever applied such stains on eyes? Do you know? :) Sorry for the crazy question but I'm just curious. Thank you!
I love Poisetint and am a sucker orangey peach colors. I've been eyeing this and may have to pick it up soon.
hi christine. i recently started reading temptalia; your blog is very informative and beautifully written. Could you tell me whether cha cha tint will look good on NC 40 / olive skin ?
Ok,so i know i might sound crazy but i had a dream last night that i went on a cruise, and this was all i had in my dream even though i dont even own it yet! So in the dream i loved and used it on my lips and cheeks! And i think this is like some kind of sighn that if i buy this it might be one of my favorite products! LOL Plus my favorite color is orange, and this product just sounds perfect to me :) So i will HAVE to get this!!!!!!'
This looks so pretty i dont have any of the benetints but i think i might break down my wallet for this lol i gotta save up now!
i love the idea of the lip and cheek stains but benitint and posietint dont show up on my skin tone. do you think this one will?
A perfectly fresh way to go through a hot, humid summer. It looks like a winner but i have to ask you Christine, did you put a gloss on top of your lips or does the product have a natural shine to it? (Or do your lips have a fabulous shine to them naturally....lucky girl!).
how does this compare to Stila's Mango crush because I have that and if they are simular then I will give this a pass.
Well that's really pretty, but even if I had a decent income I'm not sure I'd find it to be worth $30 ... to each his or her own I guess ^.^
wow it really is much more natural after applied!! ps i know you get it all the time but youre so pretty!!!!!
Forgive me if this sounds like a silly question, but what is the best way to apply these tints? I have a tiny bottle of benetint and I'm always so afraid I'm going to create brush-streaks on my face when I apply it. Thank you!
Looks super pretty, but not enough oomph to justify the cost for me. I could get the same effect from an orange-nude MAC lipstick.
Neither the original benetint nor posietint could convince me to buy them after I swatched them at the counter. But this version seems to be amazing. It looks especially pretty on the lips. Think I will give it a try.
awesome! could you do a video/post about how to apply these ? (mainly to your cheeks!) thank you! it would be so helpful!
Hopefully when this one comes out Sephora will do those mini sets with all three tints so I don't have to buy just one full size!
I can't afford anything full size from Benefit, but I have both of the $10/$15 sets. They're minis but they last a long time and are way more affordable :/ I hope this gets released with another one because it's absolutely GORGEOUS! Exactly what I've been looking for!
About how long does the bottle last you? I really love this, but I don't want to buy it if it only last one or two months.
I can't imagine finishing one any time soon. You don't need much, and you're getting quite a bit of product in the bottle! It looks like years' worth of product to me, but I've never used one regularly enough to really know, lol!
So, I've noticed with Benetint that if you apply it with the brush to your cheeks and don't IMMEDIATELY blend, it will stain that one spot very quickly. Is this one the same way? Love the color either way.
It doesn't stain immediately, but if you let it sit there for more than 20-30 seconds, it will. My advice is to apply to one cheek at a time :)
I have been a Benetint fan for a very long time. Tried Posietint more recently but struggled to get it to show up on my lips, and found the milky consistency a little weird. This looks gorgeous though! It's definitely going on my wishlist. $29 seems like such a lot for a stain, but I have found my Benetint to last forever, you only need a small amount of product per application. They are definitely worth the money if you like a natural, no-makeup type of look.
