Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Duos: The Scenic Route

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals The Scenic Route Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains two shades: Breathtaking aned Spectacular. This duo launches in October, and it’s touted as a solid eyeshadow with SeaNutritive Mineral Complex that is “creamy, silky smooth” with “seamless blendability” and “stay-true color” that is long-wearing when worn alone without creasing or budging. When worn alone, I was able to wear several of the new duos for 10 hours without an eyeshadow primer. For more details on packaging, please read my original review.

Breathtaking is a pale, creamy white with a golden shimmer and sheen. The color payoff is amazing with a really dense, buttery texture. It’s similar in color to Givenchy Lune and theBalm Envious Erin, but it has a more noticeable golden sheen. MAC Nylon is much yellower, so it is more comparable to MAC Manila Paper.

Spectacular is a green-tinted tarnished gold–it’s a little bronzy, but there is a hint of green there. It has a metallic-like finish, so it is more reflective than shimmery. The texture is very smooth and soft to the touch, while the pigmentation is solid. It is more metallic but similar in color to Make Up For Ever #148. It is greener compared to OCC Cruising, but it is not as green as MAC Sumptuous Olive. It is most similar to Inglot #433.

This is one of the best (quality-wise) duos I’ve reviewed so far from Bare Escentuals’ new pressed line of eyeshadows.  Both shades knock it out of the park.  Generally, the duos have been good and impressive, but this one really stands out.

Where to Buy: October 2011 at Bare Escentuals, Sephora, $20

The Glossover

A+

This is the first Bare Escentuals duo where both eyeshadows have been fantastic--the texture is buttery, soft, and applies smoothly, while the color payoff is rich and opaque.

I will be purchasing this shadow very soon. Absolutely beautiful color. Texture is dreamy.

beautiful :D i like the white

Here is another BE duo that has only one shade in it that I would wear. With these duos you are showing us, I would have to have 4 pods open to do my eyes. This is not working for me but I am glad finally they are doing pressed vs. all loose pots - despite you get a ton more product in the loose pot form.

I'm not sure I'd choose them TOGETHER but I like both shades, probably the first one I've seen where I liked both in their pressed shadows. Love the idea but meh on their shade options mostly.

so stunning.. spectacular reminds me a bit of benefits rich beach though

Hmm it looks like Everyday Mineral's loose eyeshadow in Cypress but this is in pressed shadow form!

Spectacular is exactly like MAC's sumptuous olive

On me, they're a bit different - Sumptuous Olive is greener :)

Wow, I really like this. Will have to check this duo out when it comes to Sephora!

I really like these new Bare Escentuals eyeshadow duos. They all look really pretty. Thanks for the great reviews!

Gorgeous colors! I think this palette is worth it just for that lovely spectacular eyeshadow color *_*

oh my goodness. I love olive green eyeshadows. Spectacular looks absolutely divine. =)

These are both really lovely colors, but I feel like I have similar shades several times over in my collection. If I didn't, though, I'd be sorely tempted, especially by the darker gold!

I feel like the light shades in all those duo's are a bit boring... The darker shades though, I must have!!

BE got smart and have pressed shadows. This set looks nice, but both seems duplicable.

From what I understand from your disclosure, it seems that Bare Escentuals sent these samples over to you to review, right? Honestly, I am SO glad they did!! I am an example of someone who would have COMPLETELY overlooked them. I have not bought anything from BE and have no intention of doing so...until your reviews of these new shadows. I am so excited to play with the colors in person!! They are beautiful!! Thanks for your reviews, Christine! :)

Yep, Bare Escentuals sent them to me! :) I think they did a great job with their pressed eyeshadows - perhaps not always the most unique/original colors, but for a permanent range? They are creating a great core of colors.

The green is very nice, though bareMinerals released a white just like that with more shimmer and more richly pigmented.

This reminds me of Double Feature 6 from MAC's COLOURIZATIONS Collection out now.

This reminds me a lot of Nars Exotic Dance but nicer! Wish I didn't already have ED. LOL.

The green/gold shade looks a lot like "Honeymoon" from the Too Faced Romantic Eye palette (I bought the palette for THAT ONE COLOUR!) I love this duo, though and may actually break down and buy it.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw this color :))

Beautiful. I think I have similar, so this is a skip, though.
