Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals The Dream Sequence Eyeshadow Quad
Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals The Dream Sequence Eyeshadow Quad
Slated for an early October release, Bare Escentuals is launching several pressed eyeshadow quads, including The Dream Sequence ($30.00 for 0.17 oz.), which features four shades: 500 Thread Count, Romp, Boudoir, and Nightcap. Bare Escentuals’ pressed eyeshadow formula contains SeaNutritive Mineral Complex that gives the shadow a “creamy, silky smooth” texture with “seamless blendability” and “stay-true color.” It’s supposed to be long-wearing whether worn alone or with primer–you shouldn’t see any creasing or fading. I’ve tested various combinations of shades from the duos and quads, and I’ve happily achieved ten hours of solid wear without a primer underneath. For a review of the packaging, please read my original review.
500 Thread Count is a pale beige with a soft frosted finish. It has a really dense, buttery texture that’s almost more like a cream than a powder. The color payoff is excellent, and I love having such high pigmentation in neutral shades, which sometimes go on sheer. MAC Creamy Bisque is a touch lighter, while Urban Decay Skimp is a touch darker. It is rather close to Bare Escentuals Chance but warmer and with a frosted finish.
Romp is a plummy mauve with a brownish metallic finish. The texture is really soft and smooth with good color payoff. The shade itself is browner than MAC Azuki Bean and theBalm Curvy Cami. It is similar to MAC Tendersmoke but a bit darker.
Boudoir is an iridescent fuchsia-purple with a frosted finish. The texture was soft and smooth, and the pigmentation was good overall though not as dense as I’d like it to be (ideally–I am being nit picky here). I’m fond of this kind of color, but it is a shade that a lot of brands have put out, so you might have something similar in your stash already.
Where to Buy: October 2011 at Bare Escentuals, Sephora, $30

If you love purples, this is definitely the quad for you! I love the different finishes of the quad, because it will allow you to get a lot of depth and variety out of your looks.

Product & Review FAQ
Where can I purchase Dream Sequence? How much is it?
October 2011 at Bare Escentuals, Sephora, and other locations where bareMinerals is sold, $30.
Is it limited edition?
No.
Any dupes?
See individual shade descriptions above.
Hey Christine, Check the caption under the picture of the Boudoir pan in the quad. You labeled it "Bare Escentuals Nightcap Eyeshadow." Quick fix.
I'm so excited for this quad and 4 of the duos to come out! (Showstopper, Vision, Top Shelf, and Scenic Route.)
Christine, I don't mean to be a pain in the neck but its seems that only the quad pic and the missing eyeshadow in Boudoir were replaced not the actual swatch of it. Can you please swatch Boudoir?
Hi JamieJames, Please refresh your browser or clear your cache, as all of the photos are correct on our end.
What a great quad! Hmm, I might actually have to lay down the money for this one. That's a great mix of purples and neutrals. Perfect for brown eyes. :)
I so am not in favor of what I have seen from these BE pressed collections - like the concept - but have not seen but one duo that I liked every shade. But it's time to move on from messy loose pots - the novelty is over.
Oh wow! I definitely like the stars and rockets look-alike. I use that particular shadow a ton, so I wouldn't mind having a dupe of it in here. I am pretty infatuated with this palette now, and i'm thinking it would be fantastic to own! Maybe Sephora will have it in time for their friends and family sale :)
hey, could you do a review on the Bare Minerals Pretty Amazing Lip Colors? I'm wondering what your opinion on those would be :-)
Romp is the business. Nicthcap(s) is (are) really nice. I think the real Boudoir is more fuchsia, with a sheen? So this palette is a two out of four for me.
Wow - Romp looks SO pretty. Dunno that I'd get much use of the other colours (have a lot of close dupes) but I do really like Romp.
Bookmarked* Have to get this in October, looked it up elsewheres but thanks for the info it looks great.
Boudoir looks more burgundy, while Nightcap looks more purple, but they do look very similar. I think this quad is great for anybody that loves burgundy/rich purple shades, but for someone who's looking for variety and for something that's good to travel with, I don't think this quad would be a great choice, since there's only 3 different colors.
i saw swatches on another blog, and boudoir was this gorgeous, pinky, shimmery purple color, much lighter than the 2 dark purples we see here. I hope that you got a messed up quad, because i NEED that other version of boudoir! lol
I really like these colors, but... Why are Budoir and Nightcap so similar!? I don't want to pay for two colors I would use interchangeably in one 4 shade palette! I keep wanting to like these new pressed shadows from Bare Escentuals, but the colors keep veering every so slightly from center and miss the mark for me. I guess I'll have to see them in person to really decide whether I want any of these or not!
It is possibly a production mistake. Boudoir and Nightcap look so much more different in the image on the back!
If you check out Karen at MBB's swatches, she has a different purple for Boudoir (one that is very close to Stars n Rockets and its ilk). I think you definitely received a mistake!
Christine.. it looks like your quad is messed up. Karen's (M&BB) swatches of Romp are very different.. it looks like you got Nightcap twice. :(
It would have been great to have a shinier lighter purple/lilac in here, because the similarites between the last two are just too close. I think that since it's a review sample, it could be that possibly they included a final version and an in progress version of the same shadow on accident :) I hope that this is the case, and that there will be a different shadow included in the real final palette! Because otherwise, this looks like a gorgeous palette that I could get a lot of use out of (I love me some purples!).
Seriously? The two darker ones look IDENTICAL to me. Way to fail on that one, Bare Escentuals. It looks like someone made a mistake and put two of one color in the palette. =/
Dude. That's really weird. But Karen from makeupandbeautyblog.com just reviewed this one yesterday, and her Boudoir pan and swatch look totally different. It looks kinda lilac and shimmery. Mistake with the sample, maybe?
