Success — We’ve Finished Our Move!

The Temptalia Tech Team is quite pleased to announce if you’re seeing this post, then you’re with us on our new digs. Hope you find them super fast, sexy (we have hyperthreading… whatever that is, but it sounds SUPER sexy!), and all that and more.  Or at least faster. :)   We also have a failover server in place exclusively for when our main servers drop, so we’re hoping that you should not experience any downtime in the future.

OK, enough tech talk!  Bascally, we’ve completed the move, and we’ve been able to verify that everything is working correctly on our end.  It will take up to 72 hours for all readers to get pointed to the blog on the new server, but in the meanwhile, they will see the blog on the old server–and just no new posts.   Because of the time lag between old and new, inevitably we will lose some comments.  We’ve done everything we can do minimize this loss, so we hope you’ll understand and be patient — and just leave your comment again.

    It SHOULD sound super sexy! Hyper-threading is basically group sex with processors ;) Hehe!

    I spent the last 10 minutes clicking through the site, testing out posts and loading times and YES this is running MUCH faster (it FEELS about four times as fast). I used my notebook – Which I don’t often use to browse the internet – So that nothing from temptalia.com would be cached on the drive and even posts with lots of photos loaded up RIGHT away and I was able to start scrolling after about 1-2 seconds.

    Hey I was on the new format at one stage and back to the old format then again when i refreshed with none of the new posts but i’m back to the new now! congrats, hope it wasn’t too stressful a weekend!!

      Getting up at 4-5AM wasn’t so fun, but it was a very smooth process overall–which is all you can really hope for, LOL!

    Can I ask what server you use? I have a site that’s just randomness but the server is so slow…it’s ridiculous. Wonder if godaddy.com is good. Anyway, love the site love the content!!

      We’re using Wired Tree now! We use dedicated servers, though, which may be a lot more than you need. We did very well on Dreamhost.com up until the day we left–but it was a long time coming, as we were too big to be on Dreamhost’s VPS.
