Amy Adams @ 2011 SAG Awards

Amy Adams @ 2011 SAG Awards

Amy Adams had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Molly Stern for a modern and ethereal look.

Makeup Breakdown

  • face: YSL Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation, Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush in #2 mixed with L’Oréal Feel Naturale Blush in Charmed Peach, Lancôme Butterflies Fever Blush in Glowy Ballerine
  • eyes: Lancôme Color Design 5 Pan Palette in Coral Crush, Lancôme Artliner in Brown, Lancôme Définicils High Definition Mascara in Deep Black
  • lips: Lancôme L’Absolu Nu in Buff Silk (out in March), Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Hallucination

Hair Breakdown

Abergel applied Fekkai Coiff™ Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm from the roots to the end of the hair and sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel at the hair line to achieve the sleek ‘do. Next, he blow dried the hair straight with a round brush. With a straightening iron, he sealed the ends to achieve the flat style. He then pulled the hair into a high ponytail. A great tip for this is to follow the cheek bone line all the way up, and then place the base of the ponytail at that point. He secured the hair with an elastic band, for an added dimension. Finally for added shine, he finished the look by spraying Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist.

when i saw her i thought… she looks like a little girl playing dress up.

  2. Time for a new make up artist, Amy!

  3. Amanda

This is a lovely fresh look for a very fair-skinned lady. she looks beautiful and natural.

  4. kiran

She looks pale. Not a red carpet look.

Hey not trying to confrontational but what is wrong with being pale? Some people have naturally dark skins, some medium, some pale – should we not be embracing this? there are racist undertones in these sorts of statements

      • Chelle

There are only racists undertones in that comment because YOU interpreted it that way. I didn’t read Kiran’s comment like that at all.

There is nothing wrong with being pale (I am!), but if you are pale, you should choose makeup that gives you some color (especially for the red carpet). The makeup artist selected neutral shadows and barely there lip color, and little blush – so she looks washed out. If they had picked a lipstick with some color to brighten up her face, it would have been perfect! As a very skinned gal myself, I love to have pops of color either with my lipstick or eyeliner. and whoever said she looks like a bridesmaid here, not a movie star on the red carpet, is right…regardless, I LOVE Amy Adams and think she always looks pretty – she has such a sweet smile & warm eyes :)

I agree with Karen, she looks washed out. As a pale girl myself, its really hard to find that sweet spot between being washed out and over done (with blush, bronzer, etc.) But in this case I just think its a lack of colour and expression on her face. When I first saw the picture, I thought she looked tired, so maybe that’s where people are getting the pale comments..

So sick of boring celeb make up! Its always some brown/ grey eyeshadow and a neutral shimmery lip! where the kick people? the only celeb make up that ever inspires me is Kim Kardashian, katy perry and rihanna!

  6. katherine

This is a safe look. A bit boring and non inspiring –but safe. She looks like a bridesmaid instead of red carpet.

    I think she looks gorgeous.
