Temptalia was founded in October 2006 by Christine Mielke, who is the owner and editor of one of today’s most popular beauty blogs on the web. It has become a resource for beauty fans around the world with features like the Dupe List, Foundation Matrix, Makeup Recommendations List, and Swatch Gallery. Temptalia is about creating and delivering value to readers through features as well as daily content, including beauty tips, in-depth reviews, photos/swatches, and tutorials.
Christine Mielke is 24-years-old and lives in California with her boyfriend and resident technical expert, Shaun, and fur-kid, Magellan aka “Mellan.” Christine is a 2011 graduate of Santa Clara University’s JD/MBA program, after having graduated in 2007 from University of California, Irvine with B.A. in Economics and B.A. in Political Science. She invented the word “Temptalia” and wanted it to describe the perfect woman–she’s smart, sexy, confident, and totally amazing.
Temptalia features content written by Christine (unless otherwise noted), who has hazel eyes, black-brown hair, and a medium complexion with warm undertones (Bobbi Brown Light-Medium, Guerlain #2/3, MAC NC25), owed to her ethnic background that is half Vietnamese, quarter German, and quarter Swiss. Temptalia’s mission statement is, “Every person deserves to feel beautiful and confident from the inside out and free to express themselves through the art and beauty of makeup.” The goal is to create a community of beauty enthusiasts who support and uplift each other.
As of the end of May 2011, Temptalia has reached nearly 10 million unique people since it began. Each month, Temptalia reaches 600,000 unique visitors who visit 1.7 million times and view 5 million pages.
