About the Founder
Let me introduce myself, as many know me simply by “Temptalia, which has been my internet moniker for many years. My real name is Christine Mielke, and I am twenty-two-years-old; I hail from the San Francisco Bay Area, over in lovely California.
I graduated from the University of Irvine, California June 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a second bachelor’s degree in Political Science. I am currently studying and enrolled in a full-time combined business and law program (JD/MBA) in pursuance of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). My estimated graduation year is 2011.
At this time, the blog is truly a full-blown hobby/part-time job, which I absolutely adore and love working on. It is a great opportunity to meet with fellow beauty addicts and share in the glory that is cosmetics. I love interacting with my readers as much as possible, and I try to make sure I respond to each and every comment I receive. Since I am a full-time student, I work on the blog part-time as well as am available as a freelance consultant for various endeavors ranging from blog analysis/mentorship, public relations, social media, and writing.
I enjoy visiting my family whenever time allows, and I have a total love for desserts and sweets after a meal. I consider myself an open and honest person in all areas of my life and work, so please don’t hesitate to ask me a question.

Temptalia is owned and founded by Christine Mielke, who is also the editor of Temptalia.com. The blog first began in October 2006. It started as a way to archive Christine’s daily looks for others to refer back to. Next to come were in-depth MAC Cosmetics Collection reviews. Today, Temptalia is still well-known for its in-depth analysis and evaluations of the latest MAC collections. Eventually, the blog content grew and opened itself up to both MAC and non-MAC brands alike as well as including tutorials, how-tos, product reviews, and beauty-related articles.

Thanks, Nell! LOL, I actually do my best to get eight hours! I would say I end up with an average of 8-9, but sometimes 6-7 if I’m really, really busy (or really, really stressed!).

I have recently found your site, about 2 months ago. I have a sidekick and i pay for this newsfeed thing on there and i searched “makeup tips” and a feed for your site came up, and ever since ive been hooked like crazy!! i love it! ive loved makeup for as long as i can remember and then i got into pageants and i learned so much, but anyway, you are awesome, all your looks are awesome! I’m in lawschool right now too, and just doing that work can be overwhelming at times! This is the best beauty blog on the net, for sure. I don’t know how you have time for all this! Ooh, what year of law school are you in? This is my second year, though it’s not like I’m really a 2L, since it’s mostly business classes right now. I really found myself not loving law school, so I have no plans to practice. I’m going to try and pass the bar exam when I graduate, but definitely no plans to practice the law. Just going for the degree at this point.

I totally feel you on the not loving law school or the idea of being an attorney! I’m a 3L, but i won’t graduate until Dec 2009, so I have a little bit of time to figure it all out. I’m leaning toward some type of bioethics work; I would love to be part of a hospital ethics committee!

Hi Christine, I also stumbled upon your site after googling swatches for Hello Kitty. Your site is amazing…I am shocked that you just do this part-time! I’ve been spending hours on your site browsing the Looks section — you are gorgeous and so talented. I only wish I could do my makeup as beautifully as you do! Thanks for providing such inspiration. Hey Christine, I’m a new follower to your blog but like the rest, I already love it.
I wanted to mention the thing that makes your blog stands out from others is your exclusives on MAC collections but also the pictures that you take. They are always top notch pictures that capture true to life colors, textures, and shape. I honestly only go to temptalia.com to check out the new collections, I would not bother with other blogs because I know you will have all of the information with high quality eye-candy to go along with it.
Also, it doesn’t hurt that your website is nicely designed, neat, and is not cluttery. It is very easy to nagivate and user friendly. Please keep up the good work that you do and I can speak for all of us when I say that your work has helped a lot of us makeup addicts!

Omg! Christine i have been reading your blog since.. September last year and I didnt know you graduated from UCI! Im also from the Bay Area (sunnyvale/cupertino, to be exact) and am a poli sci major at UCI, graduating in 2010. i also have plans for law school! what a coincidence lol how is it transitioning back to the bay? (i live 5 mins from South Coast and just got into MAC while at school here and boy is it going to be difficult going back home and not having access to 4 different MACs in one mall..)

I am a freelance makeup artist with a “real” job full time. I love makeup and a few years ago, even quit a job so I could work for MAC for a year & get more experience. Your site is incredible. Great website Christine! I find it to be a major stress reliever reading your reviews and looking at all the color swatches! I’m in a PhD program in developmental health psychology and I hope this will be my last year!
