OVERALL, MAC’s Euristocrats II Collection offers a good combination of lipsticks and dazzleglasses. Some of the dazzleglasses have better pigmentation than previous dazzleglasses, and when pigmentation is still low, I noticed the sheerer ones had a pseudo duochrome to them. I was actually a bit surprised that some of the lipsticks ended up being so sheer, but for the color shy, you’ll definitely want to check out these new lipsticks! Particularly Cockney, which is likely to be a wearable red for those a bit wary of red lipsticks like Russian Red.

IMATS 2009 – Epic Make Up For Ever Haulage

My “haul” — haul seems too tame of a word for this!

I’m sure what you’re most curious about is what I ended up buying at the show! Personally, I knew I wanted to try out Make Up For Ever, so I put aside some money once I knew I was going to be going to IMATS. Pictured above is my Make Up For Ever haul, which is, yes, a lot! I’ve been saving up for it :)

I believe I ended up with 47 eyeshadows, 5 Star Powders, 1 Pure Pigment, 2 HD Concealers (new and slated to launch in September), 1 HD Elixir, 6 10-pan palettes, and 3 Aqua Eyes Liners. They also gave me some samples of their HD Primer, Pure Water, mascara, and lip gloss. I’ll definitely review, photograph, swatch, etc. soon :) They were out of a few things I had put on my list, particularly some liners I really wanted, but still plenty to play with, yeah? Ha!

OCC Makeup was super generous and gave us their two new Lip Tars in Vintage and Plum to try out, plus a few of their glitters and nail polishes. Koren also hooked us up with Naked Cosmetics’ Urban Rustic Collection of mineral makeup (six colors in total).

I did so much damage at Make Up For Ever (totally planned, though!), so I didn’t spend too much elsewhere. It turns out the MAC booth was already selling the Euristocrats II Collection, which is a bummer, ’cause I totally would have bought those. Oh, well — now I know, will have to at least peruse their booth myself next year ;)

MAC Sugarsweet Sneak Peek Lip Swatches

Saint Germain Lipstick

You know I had to do lip swatches, too ;)

Saint Germain lipstick came out in Euristocrats, which wasn’t a collection available stateside, so it is a treat to have it come out in a regularly available launch. It’s a pretty cool-toned lipstick; maybe a little pinker than Melrose Mood from Heatherette–the two are comparable if I’m remembering correctly.

Consume Me is a little blah, considering it’s incredibly sheer. It gives lips a glossy finish with a little bit of shimmer. For those curious about the packaging, it is very much (if not exactly like) Couture/Stylistics lipglass packaging. Even the applicator feels the same; which is a skinny doe-foot applicator that doesn’t pick up a whole lotta product. I’d say the formula of this gloss isn’t much like lipglass, because it isn’t thick at all (which may be the result of the applicator…). It also didn’t feel very sticky to me. I did try to mess up the color layers, and I didn’t succeed. You can see the color punch into the next one when you put the wand back, but the color does return to its normal layer pretty quickly. (It was kind of fun trying!)
