Autumn makes me think of the changing colors of the leaves, rain, and a lingering dampness and crispness in the air–which always makes me think of earthiness. One of my favorite earth tones is greens, and this post is inspired by them; murky, mossy, and dirty greens that are beautiful to wear.

  1. Inglot #419 — a subtly warm-toned, dirty green with a frosted finish
  2. OCC Ripley — a gorgeous, gold-sparkled mossy green with threads of metallic shimmer for your nails
  3. Urban Decay Stash — a classic olive-green eyeliner that’s richly pigmented and glides on easily
  4. Make Up For Ever #84 — a muted, darkened green with neutral-cool undertones
  5. L’Oreal Golden Emerald — a richly pigmented, slightly warm-toned gold-shimmered forest green

Nice picks. My pick would be Too Faced Perfect Eyes in Moss. I just wore it a few days ago.

  2. My all-time favorite is MAC Powder Eyeshadow in Sumptuous Olive. :)

  3. Cat G

My favorite is listed here! L’Oreal’s Golden Emerald! It’s soooo stunning!! One of my favorite eyeshadows of all time!

  4. Inglot 419 – one of my oh-so-beloved green eye shadows. I’d also add Tarina Tarantino Dandy Lion (from Emerald Pretty) – not entirely earthy green, maybe, but close. And Bare Minerals Urban Nature cream eye shadow (though I fear it is discontinued). GOSH Golden Moss eye liner pencil – exactly what it sounds like and so beautiful. Also, Sephora’s Jumbo liner/shadow pencil in Kaki. I love that green nail polish, Christine. I’m going to try to find something similar in my neck of the woods!

MAC Sumptuous Olive & Greensmoke, L’Oreal Golden Emerald, and the matte green from the NARS High Society trio. I have the MUFE #84, but perhaps because it’s in the Smokey palette, I’m not loving it as much as I do my MUFE singles.

I have NARS Fuji in my “basket” ready to be hauled next week, so I’m pretty excited about that! It’s another one I’ve gone back & forth on, since I haven’t seen it in person, so I hope it’s as pretty as some swatches I’ve seen…

I like Sally Girl baked eyeshadow in Sage. It’s great and only a dollar!

  7. Lauren

The last looks like Fyrinnae’s Dressed To Kill. I thought I was in love with their many true green shades but this is beautiful. I love the nail polish too!

  8. That OCC polish is beautiful! I also like MAC Sumptuous Olive eye shadow – one of my all-time favorites.

  9. Love these cute earthy tones! I was able to find the Urban Decay Stash product for a much lower price than what I had originally looked at which is a little extra bonus :) I plan on trying the OCC Ripley next and hopefully find a decent coupon for it on the site *fingers crossed*

Ooh, so so pretty! OCC Ripley is especially great :)

Stash is my go-to eyeliner (it’s a perfect match, with a little sparkle, for my muted olive-green eyes).

  12. I love Sage from the Stila In the Garden palette. It’s unusually light and cool-toned for one of these dirty greens, and really nicely pigmented. That palette has such a great, earthy fall vibe.

  13. I thought “I love that nail polish, I have to buy it!”, and then I read the description and realized I already own it :).

so in love with greens right now !

    Stila La Duce!

Prestige Evergreen eye pencil. The perfect yellow/green color for my hazel eyes. I hate when green has too much blue in it, and shimmer doesn’t really help outline the eye as effectively as a matte color. I originally got this at a beauty supply store and then couldn’t find it at any Prestige retailer. That’s when I contacted the company directly and they would sell me three at a time. Now Prestige has as website, so I think if they still make a product, it can be purchased there. A good quality, low priced line if you can find what you need. I would like to check out the UD one you recommend however, and there was a Chanel Khaki shimmer eye pencil mentioned on one of the Lipstick League’s best eyelineners, that I would also like to see. But I always come back to Evergreen!

I might have to check that out. I have a Prestige mascara that I’m crazy about. I got it at Ulta, so maybe they would have this eyeliner there too (?)

      • Ellen

A new Ulta opened near me, I haven’t checked it out yet. I think Prestige may also make many of the pencils for the no name brands like Ulta’s! So they are worth checking out. Most eye pencils seem to be made in Germany, whether they are Prestige, Maybelline or Chanel! So if you can find one you love for $8 instead of $38, that’s great. I need to save my cosmetics $$ for the outrageously priced foundations these days! Still on the expensive quest to find the HG!!

L’Oreal Emerald Diamond is always worth a look. I’m also quite fond of NARS Night Porter, though it takes some work on my fair skin to take from being overwhelming. :)

Is then loreal infallible a limited edition shade? I’ve never seen it before…

MAC Sumptuous Olive eye shadow. They also had a LE paint pot recently. I can’t think of the name. The latter is a great lid shade.
