Reader Brittany requested a five ways post for berry lips, so here are five of my picks for berry lipsticks (and I’ll do glosses next!) 
My trick for wearing darker shades like this is to keep eyes soft and neutral–think your-lid-but-better kind of colors with a medium-dark brown, taupe, or plum in the crease.
- MAC Rebel Lipstick — really rich, vibrant red-based berry
- Guerlain Gigolo Rouge G Lipstick — luxurious berry-red with ruby micro-shimmer
- MAC Odyssey Lipstick — medium-dark berry with a hint of plum
- NYX Violet Ray Lipstick — deep, dark berry with red tones
- Thierry Mugler Dream Rouge Unique Lipstick — purpled berry with a very glossy finish

I really love NYX Violet Ray, and MAC Hang Up is one I will be buying until the day I die.
MAC Rebel is one of my favorite! I wear it with a neutral eye so it can be the star of the show! Its gorgeous

I have Guerlain Gigolo….apart from my normal reds. Absolutely beautiful and expensive.
Love love love Rebel and Odyssey. Laura Mercier’s Cranberry is also a favorite!

Ohhh Rebel is like the color I was looging for! I just bought Violetta and Show orchid because of you and they are sooooooooo gorgeous! I love them
of course I love the most expensive ones! Actually if I had to pick my top 3 it would go: MAC Rebel, Guerlain, Thierry Mugler Dream! I also do love the NYX one but I feel like it would accentuate my overly dry lips..
before i even saw the picture, i thought “rebel”. its the only berry i absolutely love. its got the impact that a red lipstick has, without being actually RED. That Guerlain shade is beautiful as well. MAC used to make a lip laquer that was very thick and berry hued as well, but i cant recall what it was called. i think it was in 07. syrup is almost berry to me, but those are the only shades i have!
On you, the Guerlain is a KNOCKOUT! You have awesome lips *blush*
And….Thierry Mugler makes makeup too? I am so screwed. I’ve been an Angel fan forever (thanks to my sister).
I do like the MAC colors as well….and I just ordered my first NYX matte lipstick from Hautelook yesterday, excited!!

Yep, Mugler makes makeup – I think distribution is rather limited but it is available online!

probably my fave is MAC Deep Attraction
I’m a huge fan of berry and plum shades as a rule. My favourite, although it’s a little dark compared to a lot of berry shades, is Mac’s “Desire”. I’ve also fallen for Gigolo, which is an amazing colour.
When I first saw the first pic I said “gosh thats such a pretty color, I hope she posted the name of it” Turns out its MAC Rebel which I already have. I have to wear this more often!
