3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection
3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection

For Fall 2014, NARS Cosmetics introduces an exciting nail collaboration with famed fashion designer Phillip Lim. The 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection includes nine limited edition nail shades inspired by the “colors that exist in the shadows.”

Rich jewel tones and contrasting neutrals in a long-lasting formula with a high-gloss finish evoke the modern mood of the season, while a covetable canvas pochette designed exclusively for NARS perfectly fits the season’s well edited nail wardrobe.

NARS and Phillip Lim have a long standing relationship collaborating over the past 14 seasons on the 3.1 Phillip Lim runway show during New York Fashion Week since the Fall 2007. The collection combines Phillip’s signature style with NARS’ iconic and audacious beauty philosophy.

  1. Mm, colours aren’t my go-to kind of colours, so I’ll be passing! I don’t like to spend more than OPI price on polish anyway.

These are not summer colors at all. Pass on this too.

  3. HA!!! The pouch is not worth $80US NARS. It probably cost them at the most $10 to make. lol

  4. Hm, since we’re in Autumn/Winter in this hemisphere, I totally approve of the colour selection, but I kind of have this weird feeling like I have dupes for may of these in my OPI stash already…

Still, I’ll be interested to see how they paint up if you review any!

  5. I see some that look really special!

$80 for a canvas pouchette!? They better have 3-4 polishes in there…

I like this collection, I have to check my stash for dupes, but there are at least 2 I really want. I’ve not tried Nars nail polishes. Are they usually good?
I will probably wait for swatches in any case.

  8. LOVE, but will not purchase. All colors can be worn anytime anyone wants to and this selection is like a “Naked” palette for nails without all nudes.. But all perfectly appeasing. (Imho) :D

  9. The 3 shades from the 2nd row looks so interesting especially that duo chrome golden one!! :)

  10. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. An $80 canvas wristlet is never gonna happen.

  11. Carrie

$20 for basics that you can find with equally good (if not better formulas) for half price, or $80 for zipper pouch?

    Ow. Kinda ridiculous.

That kind of pricing is inching (yes I know they’re at $27/bottle, hence inching) into Chanel territory, but at least a) Chanel puts out one or two genuinely unique colors that become copied by all later and b) failing that, they can get away with it because people will buy it because it’s Chanel. The same generally can’t be said of NARS.

Oh man. Two of these caught my eye immediately, but I have to wonder if I own any dupes. Looking forward to swatches and comparisons!

  13. These are so rich and beautiful for fall. However, Nars nail polish is not something I could afford. Would lovee to see dupes of these once they’re out!

  14. I will probably buy Shutter as apparently I can never have enough green, gray or blue nail polish and I have a weakness for NARS in general.
